About Me
- Indecisive Moments
- Photographer Elliott Erwitt says good pictures are merely the result of noticing things. So I always keep my good eye open. He also said that you could take good pictures anywhere, even in New Jersey...so I moved there. I hope he never says to poke both my eyes out with a screw driver. For the past 38 years I have made my living as a photographer, teacher and photo editor. Since 1982 I have worked at The Philadelphia Inquirer. Prior to that I worked at newspapers in Missouri and Florida. My first experience as a photographer came while serving in the US Army as a combat photograpoher in South Vietnam. Over the years my work has evolved from the more or less straight documentary approach of a journalist photographer to a more personal way of seeing and recording the world around me.

With my photographs what you see is what you get. These are not images intended to mean something only to me. Hopefully you'll see, get and enjoy the sometimes humor, ambiguity and downright craftyness of what I am trying to do with my camera.
